Mobile phone policy


1.1 Definitions

Employee: All staff of RS Divers.

1.2 General Statement of Policy

This policy has b€en developed to provide guidance and standards of use of private and RSD phones in the workplace. This policy is designed to ensure that potential issues, such as mobile phone etiquette can be clearly identified and addressed.

It is important that any mobile phone used to conduct RS Divers business is used appropriately, responsibly and ethically.

RS Divers reserves the right to dismiss an employee who does not adhere to the requirement of this policy.

1.3 Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to provide employees of RS Divers with guidelines regarding the appropriate use of RS Divers supplied phones and private mobile phones used during the course of performing the duties in RS Divers business.


Whilst at work employees are expected to exercise the same discretion in using personal mobile phones as is expected for the use of RS Divers supplied phones. Excessive personal calls and text messages during the work day, regardless of the phone used can interfere with productivity. Employees should restrict their personal calls and text messages during work time and only use their personal phone on scheduled breaks and lunchtimes. Employees are therefore asked to make any other personal calls on non-work time where possible and to ensure that family and friends are aware of the RS Divers policy. Flexibility will be provided in circumstances demanding immediate attention. RS Divers will not be responsible for personal phones brought into the work place'


This policy is to be implemented through the procedures established under RSD.

3.1 Breach of this Policy

Failure to comply with this policy could result in appropriate disciplinary action being taken against the employee.

3.2 Review of this Policy

The mobile policy will be reviewed annually, in consultation with relevant employees. The date of each review will fall on March each year.

3.3 Dissemination of the Policy

This policy will be made available to each employee upon commencement of work and additional copies made available on request.
